Ian has been in the payroll profession for over 30 years, processing hundreds of payrolls in both public and private sector, large and small. Moving from hands-on exposure, he has most recently been involved in educating the profession, where his wide-ranging experience and up-to-date knowledge ensures he is able to impart this information to professionals in writing and through face-to-face presentations. Ian’s ‘passion’ at the moment is trying to get professionals to realise the huge implications of increased devolution within the United Kingdom. This changes the way that we have to look at every piece of payroll and employment-related legislation and guidance that is issued, more than it ever has previously. Further, raising the profile of professional apprenticeship qualifications in payroll where Ian is Chair of the Level 3 (under review) and the new Level 5. Ian is proud to be a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) and a holder of the Masters in Payroll Management.
